Oh Christmas

Well Christmas was a blast! What a good time we had and oh how the kids got spoiled. They received way to much from there grandparents and we are very thankfull for all that we got! We had a busy two weeks. We went to Gamma and Wacko house first. We played with cousins and opened presents it was a lot of crazy fun.
Then it was back to our house for Christmas eve and Christmas day. Santa brought them alot of toys and we had a very good time. TJ was so excited on Christmas day we had to wake up the kids at 7:30 because he could not wait any longer.
Then finally off to Papa and NeeNees. We got there on Christmas day around 3:00 and the girls were so hyper they were crazy and still had more prestents to open! They had a big week opening presents.

Then on Monday it was off to the cabin for some exciting snowmobling and sledding. We had a great time and thanks to the fam for letting us ride there machines. We had a blast. It is good to be home tough and it will be great to use all the fun toys that we got. Thank you everyone! Happy New Year :)

Three Layers of Christmas

In Relief Society we had a Christmas party about making Christmas simple. It was a night full of the spirit and tears. One speaker gave her talk on the three layers of chritstmas. The first being the santa clause layer. This is the presents, the candy, decorations, last minute shopping, caroling and all the stuff that we fill ourselves up on, until we can not wait untill the the 26th, so we can finally put all the decorations away and start the new year. The second layer is the baby Jesus layer. This layer consist of nativities, wisemen, service projects and all the good things of christmas.  However, this layer fades just like the first layer and we all continue on our way through the new year, without every really celebrating the birth of Christ. The third layer is the layer that we must have for Christmas, so that we may keep it with us all year long. It is the celebration of the adult Christ. This is what he did for us, and what he does for our busy lives today. We need to remember him all year long and keep the magical feeling of Christmas with us.  Just like a cake you must have layers to make it good. How good would it be, if we could constantly keep the thought of the Savior with us all year long? I hope you all have a "simple" christmas and are able to keep the third layer of Christmas with you all year long.

Centerpiece :)

At the High School a lady was teaching a centerpiece class and TJ signed me up for it, I was a little nervous to go but I thought it turned out alright.

Maybe I will have to venture out alittle next time and put some flowers in it but it made me excited for Christmas and reminded me of my wedding bouquet with the pine cones. So Merry Christmas to all!

Sewing?? Oh my!

So I decided that I needed a new hobby and I was going to try my hand at sewing. Thanks Corilynn for the machine, it is great! My mom came up and we got this really cute material to make Christmas skirts. So I thought why not, it can not be that hard?  BHAAAAAAAAAA.  It was challening.   Seam ripper and I became very close, but the end product is pretty stinkin cute, I think.
This is Kennedy's skirt.  The girls wore them to church today and thought they were just great.

Kaidence is in a lovely stage in her life now.  She likes to throw herself on the ground and pitch a little fit.  So, here is Kaidence in her skirt, while throwing a fit.

That was my hand at sewing.  I would really like to keep it up. I like looking at the finished product, so maybe it was worth the burns and the sore fingers!

Happy Birthday Kendall Monster!!!

Kendall turned five today! Oh how the time flies. It feels like just yesterday they put her in my arms with her big blue eyes and all of her black hair. She was the best little baby. She loved to smile and laugh at everyone. I rarely remember a time when she cried. And then she turned three and oh wow! She has always had a lot of personality and keeps us entertained by the things she is saying. We love this little teenager so much.
She was spoiled this year, with three birthday parties and with two cakes! Thanks to everyone for the presents and celebrating with us. This is her party at Grandmas and Wackos. She had a party with her cousin Lorelei.

They had a guitar cake and also had a great time. They could not blow the candles out and that was really funny to them.

Then on Friday she had another party at her NeNes and Papa.
She got a watch and she collects little birthday dolls, so she got her number 5 to add to the collection.
NeNe also made her this really cute caterpiller cake.

Then on her birthday we had a party at our house. What a spoiled little girl. We decided not to have a cake though because we had all had enough.

We love this little girl so much and we are so thankful for the joy that she brings us and the empathy and big heart that she has. I know I sound like Grandma Great but we are truely blessed to have her in our lives. So happy birhtday Kendall!  We hope this year will be as great as the last :)
